Community
Television
ALCo
TV is a Michigan City based community television station created
by Access LaPorte County to fill the media vacuum that exists
in Michigan City as well as the loss of a valuable communication
tool that disappeared when the Michigan City Public Library
ceased operation of Public Access Channel 99, December
31, 2002. Further, ALCo TV will serve to forward our mission
to fortify the area's economic, political, cultural, and social
well being by making public and community information available
through the Internet and other forms of media.
Production
facilities are already in place, the offices up and running,
operating revenue secured, and experienced staff hired. We're
just reading the instruction books and recording our greeting
on the answering machine...well, not quite. We're actually still
installing some equipment, making decisions about staffing,
and continuing to build bridges with other organizations.
We currently
air our productions on public access TV in Michigan City and
LaPorte but are quickly working towards broadcasting on our
own channel throughout LaPorte County. Concurrently we are offering
our programs via Windows Media in this Web site. CLICK

We obviously
have more to share and we'll do so in the coming months. Check
back here often and don't forget to check your local cable listings
for programming. Our new studios are located in the old public
access office at 301 East 8th Street, Suite #101 in Michigan
City. We welcome all who would like to visit us and would be
grateful to anyone wishing to help out with last minute preparations.
